INTRODUCTION

Released today on the feast day of Saint Cecilia in the year 2019. I dedicate this endeavor to St. Cecilia and in honor of The Blessed Virgin Mary, both of whom has long been interceding and supporting us in the profession of sacred music.

In a day when the media is so diabolically corrupt, when it so often leads our thoughts and actions away from God and into the eternal dead end of sin, remember that the Devotions that were once in place pointed and guided us toward the heart of the Church. They brought the faithful together to focus on various aspects of the Faith, surrounded with prayer and sacred music, art and architecture that has also been taken from us. The new iconoclasm has laid waste the tradition of our forefathers, and with it our very spirituality.

It is my hope and mission to offer a new alternative, one that does not rely in total on the local churches, although there are ways the parishes can participate in this new endeavor. More will be explained later.

The rosary is one of the most powerful of all devotions and prayers. To accentuate our meditation on those mysteries, I have gathered the light of sacred icons and the sounds of newly composed music.

SACRED ICONS*

God designed us to be receptors of grace, light and truth partly through our five senses. From the Gospel of Matthew we read:

The light of thy body is thy eye. If thy eye be single, thy whole body shall be lightsome. But if thy eye be evil thy whole body shall be darksome. If then the light that is in thee, be darkness: the darkness itself how great shall it be!

Matthew 6:22—23

What we take into our eyes will have effect on our entire being. Thus is true also with our ears, our speech, and so on. It is important that we orient our senses to the true, good and the beautiful. Sacred iconography is the exact opposite of pornography. It fosters the fruit of the Spirit.

But the fruit of the Spirit is, charity, joy, peace, patience, benignity, goodness, longanimity, mildness, faith, modesty, continency, chastity. Against such there is no law. And they that are Christ’s, have crucified their flesh, with the vices and concupiscences. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Galatians 5:22—25

VARIATIONS OF THE MEDIA

Too often, the video rosaries we see are often produced showing a group of people or a single person in the act of praying or singing the rosary. Sometimes with background music and images. The spoken word is also usually prominent in the audio track.

This new type of presentation asks the onlookers to finger the beads of the rosary and to pray out loud, or by moving the lips to the prayers. The music and the images are simply a support or accentuate the primary action of the person praying, but also hope to inspire thoughts and intimations toward loving and knowing God and the life of Jesus, Mary and Joseph.

Each mystery is presented with four main elements:

  1. text words (typographic) of the prayers
  2. spoken words (audio) of the prayers
  3. images (icons) related to the mystery being considered
  4. music (audio) related to the mystery being considered

The following is a list of the variations which will be available to the those who purchase a DVD.

Audio Presentation (mp3)

  1. Music alone
  2. Spoken word alone
  3. Spoken word with music

Video Presentation (without audio) (mp4)

  1. Images alone
  2. Images with text

Video Presentation (with audio) (mp4 – HD)

  1. Images with spoken word (no text or music)
